No Smoking
Purpose
To prohibit smoking in
University premises and motor vehicles.
Scope
This policy applies to all staff and
students of the University as well as visitors to the University.

Policy
Swinburne Council approved the
recommendation of its staffing committee that: A ban on smoking in
all buildings and vehicles to be instituted from January
1st 1991.
Applies to: University-wide
Approved by: Council
Smoking in all University buildings,
enclosed spaces, outside areas adjoining buildings eg. balconies and
decks, and motor vehicles is prohibited. Smoking is also
prohibited within 5 metre zone around all points of access and egress
to a building.
Signs shall be erected to advise all personnel of this policy.
